An over-bonnet storage cabinet is a secure, lockable, all-steel unit that sits above the bonnet of your parked car, right there in your allocated car space. It uses the dead space between your car bonnet and the ceiling that would otherwise go completely to waste.
Your car parks underneath as normal. Your gear goes up top – locked away behind a Lenlok 3-way locking system, inside a fire-safe, powder-coated steel cabinet.

Body Corporate Preferred

If you live in an apartment or strata complex, you’ll need body corporate approval before installing any storage in your car space. The good news: Storage Vault cabinets are body corporate preferred across Australia.
Why? Because they’re completely free-standing. No drilling into walls, floors, or ceilings. No structural modifications. No impact on building warranties. The unit sits on the car space floor under its own 100kg weight.
We work with body corporates and strata managers regularly and can provide the information your building needs to assess the product. Wall or floor bolting is available if your body corporate requires it ($100 surcharge with written approval).

DO YOU OFFER CUSTOMISED SIZES FOR THE OVER BONNET STORAGE BOX?
No, the over bonnet storage box dimensions only come in two different sizes. These units are designed to suit most car park spaces.
DO I NEED BODY CORPORATE APPROVAL?
We always recommend you speak with your Body Corporate before ordering your storage unit. Every Body Corporate has different requirements and regulations which must be adhered to. We are, however, here to assist you by providing as much information as you need to help you fulfil your Body Corporate requirements.
DO YOU NEED TO ATTACH THE STORAGE UNIT TO THE GROUND OR WALL?
No, it is not necessary, as the storage units are designed to be completely free-standing.
CAN YOU ATTACH THE STORAGE UNIT TO THE GROUND OR WALL?
Yes, we can bolt the storage unit to the ground or wall, by using an angle bracket which is screwed to the leg. We then use concrete anchor bolts to secure the storage unit to the ground or wall. (If you require the storage unit to be attached to the ground or wall, there is a $100 surcharge. We would also need written Body Corporate approval).
IS THE HEIGHT OF THE OVER BONNET STORAGE BOX ADJUSTABLE?
Yes, each leg has an independent adjustment at 100 mm increments. This will cover uneven ground, drains and sloping car parks. To ensure the storage unit is level, each leg is fitted with its own adjustable foot.
ARE THERE SHELVES INSIDE?
No. We have found that the large open storage area is more popular with customers, as shelving can be restricting with regards to storage. We often suggest to our customers that if you require to store smaller objects, etc. stackable plastic tubs/boxes with lids are a suitable solution.
HOW MUCH WEIGHT CAN THE UNIT HOLD?
The storage unit is designed for a maximum load capacity of 500 kg.
CAN WE PICK THE STORAGE UNIT UP OURSELVES?
Yes, you are welcome to pick up your storage unit from 42-44 Claude Boyd Parade, Caloundra, QLD, 4551 between 8.00am and 4.00pm weekdays (before 1:30pm on Fridays).
HOW IS THE OVER-BONNET STORAGE BOX PACKED?
The storage unit is flat-packed in five different packages. (Should you decide to pick up the storage unit, you will require a utility or large van).
IS THE STORAGE UNIT DIFFICULT TO ASSEMBLE?
No, I would not say it’s difficult. You will require two people, access to a drill containing an Allen key bit (please note, normal Allen keys are suitable, but will take some time to assemble) and a pop rivet gun. It will normally take around 2 hours for inexperienced people to assemble. We always try to offer as much advice as we can, to assist you with assembling your storage unit.
CAN YOU ARRANGE DELIVERY ONLY?
Yes, we can arrange delivery within most parts of Australia. Please call us to discuss and obtain a quote.
CAN YOU ARRANGE DELIVERY AND INSTALLATION?
Yes, we can arrange delivery and installation. If you are located within two hours’ drive of the Sunshine Coast, we can organise for one of our trained staff to provide the installation. If you are located beyond this area, we can arrange for a third party to provide installation.

WILL MY 4WD FIT UNDER THE OVER BONNET STORAGE BOX?
Generally, in most cases, a 4WD will fit under the storage unit. (Even our large storage unit can fit a Toyota Prado under it). However, please note that some 4WD’s that have been raised, possess bull bars and or antennas may not fit under the storage unit.
Please also consider that the higher you raise the storage unit, the more clearance you will need above it. The large storage unit set at its highest setting will need 260 cm clearance from ground to ceiling.
